South East Housing Market
The areas expected to be top of the property market in 2008 are, unsurprisingly, London and the South East.
Investors say these will be the year’s hot spots. As the South East still is short of properties, investors think this area will see the highest price increases in 2008. The main reasons for this are good transport links, regeneration, foreign buyers and the general wealth of the area.
Merseyside was second in the league this was thought to be because it was named as the European Capital of Culture for 2008. Even so, it was still a long way below London and the South East and only 10% of investors were sure of its performance.
It is considered positive that investors still feel there is potential in the market although the market is subdued. There is still a very strong demand for rental properties especially in those areas of regeneration.
